100 g (1/2 cup) soft butter
100 g (1 cup) of sugar
100 g (1 cup) self raising flour
100 g (1/2 cup) egg
Grated zest of 2 untreated oranges
100 g (1/2 cup) dark chocolate
Chocolate flakes as desired
With the electric whisk, mix the butter with the sugar and grated orange peel until the mixture is fluffy and clear.
Add eggs, one at a time and when everything is well mixed, add the flour slowly.
Pour the mixture into the mould cavity filling it three quarters full, insert the sticks and bake in a preheated oven at 160°C (320°F) for about 25 min.
Remove from the mould only when completely cooled.
Garnish with melted chocolate by dipping the cakes on one side only and sprinkle with flakes before the chocolate has a chance to set.
